Animas Valley Institute Registration Policies
REGISTRATION CHECKLIST
Your registration is complete and your space in the program is secured when:
- Completed registration form (including agreement with our polices) is submitted
- Full deposit is paid for a field program, full program fee is paid for an online immersion
- Online Health Questionnaire and Liability Release Form are completed (health form not required for online immersions)
- You receive an email stating your registration and payment have been successfully processed
You will be notified when a program has been confirmed. We aim to confirm programs no later than 30 days prior to the start date. ANIMAS is not responsible for COSTS OF travel arrangements made before the program has BEEN CONFIRMED WITH sufficient enrollment.
CANCELLATION POLICY
CANCELLATION BY ANIMAS: If a minimum number of registrations are not received 30 days prior to the start date, the program may be cancelled. If Animas cancels a program due to low enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances, registered participants will receive a full refund in the form of a mailed check.
CANCELLATION BY YOU: To enroll in an Animas program is to invite your soul on something like a date; it is to say “yes” to a potentially life-changing journey, a journey of initiation or of deepening into a soul-infused life. It’s not unusual for fear, resistance, or an apparent scheduling conflict to surface as the time of your program nears. We believe that whatever arises is a part of your journey and is ripe with opportunity and meaning. The following cancellation policy is designed to support you in honoring your commitment and to support our staff and guides as they prepare for your program:
1. Deposits for field programs and FULL program fees for online immersions are non-refundable and non-transferrable. If you cancel a program for any reason, your deposit is forfeited and will be considered a donation to Animas. Upon request, we will be happy to send you a receipt for your 501c3 donation which is tax deductible.
2. Payment above the deposit will not be held as an account credit and will be refunded in the form of a mailed check, with exceptions noted below.
3. If notice of cancellation is received 30 days or less before the start of a 5-day immersion or online program, all payment is forfeited.
4. If notice of cancellation is received 60 days or less before the start of an Animas Quest, any Advanced immersion, or the Yearlong Soulcraft Intensive, all payment is forfeited.
5. These policies stand even if there is a waitlist for the program and we are able to fill your spot.
6. In the rare event a credit or refund is offered for an extreme situation, a $100 processing fee will be applied.
PAYMENT POLICY
Deposit: Payment of the non-refundable and non-transferrable deposit reserves your space in a field program – registrations are not complete and your space is not reserved until the full deposit has been received. Deposit amounts are 30% of the program cost and are indicated on the registration form. For online immersions, full non-refundable payment is due at the time of registration and your space is not reserved until full payment has been received.
Final Payment: Final payment is due no less than 30 days prior to the program start date (60 days for Animas Quests). Please submit your final payment using your guest statement or on this website under Participants – Make a Payment. The payment due date is in effect for all programs except the Yearlong Soulcraft Intensive, which has its own payment schedule.
Yearlong Soulcraft Intensive participants agree to pay for all four sessions of the program, even if they cannot attend all four sessions, without the option of a refund. Participants will be notified of the payment schedule, and the balance of the program will be due 30 days prior to the start of the third session.
When registering less than 30 days prior to the start date of a program (60 days for Animas Quests), payment of the entire program fee is required. This payment is non-refundable and non-transferrable.
OTHER
Attending Animas Programs with Family or Friends: For our more fierce and intense offerings (e.g., Animas Fasts, Yearlong Soulcraft Immersions, Sweet Darkness, and most other Advanced Intensives) we do not allow couples, partners, family members, or friends to attend together. Attending Animas Programs with Animals: We do not allow animals to accompany participants on our programs. Please see our FAQ page for more information. For questions regarding registered service animals, please contact the Animas office.
Sharing Personal Information: It is standard procedure for Animas to share your full name, pronouns, gender, email address and phone number with everyone attending your program along with the program guides. This is so you may contact one another before or after completing the program (i.e. carpooling purposes, email council, etc). By agreeing to our policies and procedures, you consent to the sharing of this information with those attending your program.
Transportation: Please note that all participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from each program.
No weapons are allowed at any of our programs.
Regarding the use of mind-altering substances on Animas immersions: All of our offerings open portals to non-ordinary perception, and consequently shapeshift our everyday consciousness. Dreamwork, deep imagery, ceremony, poetry, dance, rhythm, solo wandering in wildish places, council, and other practices that we engage are all intended to disrupt our customary psychic habits and open windows of multi-sensory perception to the animate Earth and cosmos, and to the immense rooted intelligence in which we are entangled. Over the days of our immersions, it is nearly certain that participants who engage these practices will encounter – or swim deeply in – magical, mythical, soul terrain and psychically-alive seas. During your participation in our offerings, we respectfully request that you discontinue use of mind-altering plants, chemicals, and alcohol. Please do not bring tempting substances to use alone or to share. When preparing for a multi-day Animas Fast, it’s best if you discontinue all consciousness shifting/expanding substances (including caffeine, alas!) well before your arrival. Animas is not responsible for any mishaps that might occur with use of consciousness altering substances – even legal ones – on our immersions. We ask that you respect other participants and the group field by leaving such substances at home, and by engaging the practices suggested by the guides to nudge open your windows of perception.

Animas reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. Animas also reserves the right to screen participants for compatibility with Animas programs. For the safety of all participants, we require that participants be in good physical, mental and emotional health. Animas programs can be physically and psychologically challenging. We reserve the right to refuse service based on our assessment of these or other criteria.
